Worship is a celebration of the Christian faith.  It is a time to rededicate ourselves to God as we offer our selves, our souls, and bodies to the Almighty through Jesus Christ.  Congregational participation is vital to our worship experience at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church.  Outstanding music enhances our worship.  All ages are welcome at our service.



 
SUNDAY WORSHIP SCHEDULE
 
8:00 AM
An hour-long service using a traditional and familiar format.  Music is provided primarily by the Sanctuary Choir.  Children's Church is available for children three years through second grade.  Sermons are Biblically based and the Sacrament of Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.
 
9:30 AM
A more informal, blended service of contemporary and traditional elements.  Sharing of joys and concerns is enouraged.  Praise music, led by the Joyful Connection Singers, and preaching combine to provide practical answers to today's problems.  Holy Communion is shared on the first Sunday of the month.
 
11:00 AM
An hour-long service using a traditional and familiar format.  Music is provided primarily by the Sanctuary Choir.  Children's Church is available for children three years through second grade.  Sermons are Biblically based and the Sacrament of Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.
 
OTHER WORSHIP SERVICES
 
Virginia Beach United Methodist Church offers three worship services on Christmas Eve, and services on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Good Friday.
 
From Ash Wednesday through Easter, our church offers Wednesday Lenten Worship Services, beginning at 6:30 PM following our congregational dinners.  Sermons are delivered by guest ministers as well as our own.  Each service is enhanced by special music.
 
CONCERN FOR THE HANDICAPPED
 
Our Church Sanctuary is fully accessible to the physically handicapped.  Hearing aids are available for the enhancement of sound in the Sanctuary.  Large-print worship bulletins and hymnals may be requested from the ushers.
 
CHILD CARE DURING WORSHIP
 
Children are always welcome in worship; however, exceptional childcare for infants through 4 year-olds is provided during all services.
