Care by Community After School Volunteer Care by Community is an after-school program for homeless and "at-risk" students from our neighboring schools who participate to receive help with homework, school projects, reading, and other academic needs.  The children then have some recreation time to play games and have fun.  Afterwards, they are fed a hot meal and taken home.  The program was created to help not only the students but to allow their parents to work later into the evenings.  The CBC Program has proven to help improve students' grades, behavior, and over-all self esteem.  It also helps families helps themselves and pull themselves out of homelessness.

Leisure Ministries

Baskets by the Sea
Centuries ago sailors spent the tedious hours aboard ship creating intricate baskets.  Come learn the traditional art of basketry and enjoy fellowship.
Schedule:  Thursdays from 9:30 - 11:30 AM in the Fellowship Hall.   
Co-Ed Softball





VBUMC currently sponsors a co-ed softball team in the city recreation church league.  It is open to men and women age 18 and over.  All skill levels are represented.  Come join us for this clean family atmosphere and excellent Christian fellowship.  Families are encouraged to come and cheer the team. 
Schedule:    The team meets for practice one night per week beginning in April.  Double-header games are played on Monday nights from May through mid-July. 
Co-Ed Volleyball




A coed volleyball team is sponsored to participate in the city recreational league.  The emphasis is on fellowship, encouragement, and building skills more than high-powered competition.  Even with this emphasis, the team has made it to the finals the past several years! 
Schedule:  The season runs from January through March. 
Duplicate Bridge



Duplicate Bridge is offered each week in the Fellowship Hall.  Experienced players are welcomed to bring a lunch and a partner.  Beginners are encouraged to seek additional information.

Men's Basketball




VBUMC currently sponsors a men's basketball team in the city recreation church league.  All skill levels are represented and anyone interested is welcome.

Men's Softball





Beach United Methodist currently sponsors a men's softball team in the city recreation church league.  All skill levels are represented.  Come join us for this clean family atmosphere and excellent Christian fellowship.  Families are encouraged to come and cheer the team.
Schedule:    The team meets for practice one night per week beginning in April.  Double-header games are played on Monday nights from May through mid-July. 
Surf Ministry Participants Surf lessons for everyone ages 6 - 99!  Bring your surfboard or one will be provided.
